Lusaka’s Garden Compound is witnessing a spark of creativity that has the potential to ignite an art revolution. On a recent trip to Malasha Market in Garden, I was drawn to a roadside shop bursting with vibrant colors. I was delighted to discover that it was a budding creative hub for local artists.

Matalanta Art and Design was created by a local art enthusiast who wanted to provide a space where young artists could connect, collaborate, and also access art supplies. More than just a shop, the hub is energizing the community by fostering creativity and offering aspiring artists opportunities to develop their skills, explore their potential, and sell their work.

I am looking forward to see how Matalanta grows and the impact it will have on the local art scene.
