The 2023 edition of the Cynthia Zukas Young Artist Awards (CZYAA) took place late last year at the Lechwe Gallery. The 2023 exhibition featured 67 different emerging artists who showcased a diversity of artforms.
Ile-enda ilepya by Chrispine Jere took the top prize, while A safe place by Kabwe Mhlanga and Marabou Stork by Benjamin Maivune scooped the second and third prize respectively. There were so many great entries and I have highlighted some of my favourites below.
