Located in the Woodlands area of Lusaka, Champs is a sports bar by definition but they have such a mature but contemporary space that overlooks the Woodlands stadium. I loved that they have an indoor space and outdoor rooftop patio for dining, plus they have a section for a live band, think food + live football match over the weekend or live music until daybreak.

The menu options are not out of the usual options most restaurant’s are serving in Lusaka but I realised that Champs has streamlined each menu section to have a limited selection. The options range from entrees and burger to salad and grill options.

I ordered the Cuban Burger which promised to pack some heat from the jalapeños and Cuban sauce. The burger was tangy and earthy courtesy of the Cuban sauce and fresh lettuce and tomato, but it also had a punch from the jalapeño which was soothed the cheese. I could not quite put my finger on it but there was either something missing or something in the burger that should not have been in it. However, I enjoyed it and I am pretty sure the other menu options are as unique as this burger and match the jazzy club vibe that Champs provides.
